A free interactive tool for running a single-colorant glaze test — the simplest way to see how one oxide or carbonate behaves across a range in your base glaze. Enter how many test batches you’re mixing and your water percentage, and the calculator works out how much base to mix and exactly how much colorant to add to each test tile.
How to use it
Mix one base glaze, split it into equal 100 g batches, and add a single colorant to each at two levels — a lighter first addition and a heavier second. Dip a test tile after each, fire the whole set together, and read the results side by side. The calculator and its printable tile key handle the weighing math and labeling for you.
